Zena Grattan Obituary
Zena Joy Grattan, age 92, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. She was born on August 16, 1933, in Lancaster, the daughter of LeRoy and Merle (Duncan) Jamison. On December 12, 1951, Zena was united in marriage to Harold Chapman. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1960. On July 6, 1963, she was united in marriage to Tyrell “Ted” Grattan in Lancaster. Zena enjoyed family vacations out West, watching the birds and squirrels in the backyard, and dearly loved spending time with all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Zena will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her children: Victoria “Vicky” Schnering; Wayne and Steve Chapman; Kathy (Douglas) Martin; Douglas Grattan; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; siblings: Vernetta Seippel and George (Diane) Jamison; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents and her husbands Harold and Ted, Zena was preceded in death by her siblings: Zona (Delbert) Levins, LeRoy, David and Charles Jamsion; and a brother-in-law, Henry “Red” Seippel.
In keeping with Zena’s wishes, there will be no services. Kramer-Grau Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
