Peggy Roberts Obituary
Peggy Jean Roberts, was a remarkable woman who passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Silver lakes, California, on July 1, 2025, she left behind a legacy of love, kindness and, and a life well lived.
Born on May 3, 1939 in San Francisco, California, Peggy grew up in Napa alongside her sister Ellie, and her two brothers John and Bill Knudsen. Her upbringing was shaped by the values of her parents Lorena and Johan Knudsen, who instilled in her a strong sense of family and responsibility.
Peggy's academic journey began at Napa High School, where she became a member of Jones Daughters and later joined the Eastern Star, A tradition that had been passed down through her family, including her Grandmother, Mother, and elder sister Ellie. This commitment to her community and her faith was a hallmark of her life.
Inspired by her mother's passion for hairdressing, Peggy pursued her dream and enrolled at the Marinello Beauty College. She honed her skills and eventually worked alongside her mother at her shop for many years. Later in life, Peggy found joy in working at Butter Cream Bakery, where she had pleasure interacting with her customers.
Peggy's life took a romantic turn when she met Craig Roberts at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. Their love blossomed, and shortly after they were married, celebrating their 42 nd wedding anniversary at the time of her passing.
After the closure of Mare Island, Craig and Peggy relocated to Silver Lakes, in Hellendale, California, where Peggy found employment at the Silver lakes Market, where she worked for two decades. Her warm and friendly nature made her a beloved member of her community and she was known for her kindness and willingness to help others.
Peggy was an avid reader and passionate book lover. She cherished sharing her books with family and friends, and her love for literature was evident in her life.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Craig Roberts; her three children, Carrie Steele, Mike Quinnell, and Shane Quinnell; Grandson Aaron Quinnell; and numerous nieces and nephews from various family lines, Including the Roberts, the Quinnell's, the Combs, and the Knudsen families.
Peggy's life will be remembered fondly as she is laid to rest in her family's plot at the Tulocay Cemetery in Napa, California. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come, Reminding us of the importance of love, Family and the pursuit of one's dreams. Peggy Jean Roberts
