David Bowers Sr.

David Francis Bowers Sr., 79, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016 at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. David was born May 8th, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama to James and Ruth Bowers. David graduated from the University of Alabama in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering. He attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1966 with a Master of Science, and in 1975 he graduated with a Ph.D. from Ohio State University. David worked at the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton, Wisconsin before moving to Illinois and working as a consultant for Packer Engineering. David started his own company D.F. Bowers Consultancy before retiring. He was an active member for NACE International Corrosion Society as well as the Engineering division of TAPPI. David was also a long time parishioner of Saints Peter & Paul Church in Naperville, IL. David is survived by his wife, Rose Ann, his children, Catheryne and Dave (Kim), and two grandsons, Dustin and Ethan. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 10, at 11:00 a.m. at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St, Naperville, IL with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
