Luizia Nesbit Obituary
A native of Oriental, she has resided in New Bern and the Riverdale community for over 80 years. Her membership at St. Matthew Church of Christ Disciples of Christ Church included serving as a mother of the church, senior choir member and past president of Home Missions.
Her funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at St. Matthew Church of Christ Church with the Rev. Cleophus Gooding, pastor, officiating. The burial will follow in St. Matthew Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Helen Nesbit Samura of the home; one grandson, Anthony Nesbit; and one great-grandchild, Jaiden Nesbit.
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at Oscar's Mortuary. A video presentation will begin at noon Thursday, at the church.
