NEWBERRY — Imogene "Tess" Vaughn Wilson, 91, wife of the late Dan Warren Wilson, passed away March 15, 2023.
A native of Spartanburg County, S.C., daughter of the late John "J.P." and Myrtle Melton Vaughn, she was retired from Penn National Insurance Company. Mrs. Wilson was an avid sports fan, she loved tuning into March Madness each year, and cheering on the Clemson Tigers football team. Tess loved going to North Myrtle Beach, and she enjoyed "wine time" with her friends. She also enjoyed a good margarita. She was a long-life member of Victor Baptist Church and loved her church dearly.
Surviving are one daughter, Lynn Underwood (Mike) of Newberry, S.C.; one son, Scott Wilson of Nashville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Matt Walker, Todd Walker and Kai Wilson; and five great grandchildren that she adored, Avery, Warren, Ethan, Matthew and Sally Walker.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Ken Vickery. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Visitation was held 12:30-1:45 Saturday, March 18, 2023, at The Wood Mortuary.
Pallbearers were Darrell Brown, Billy Jones, Maxie Kraus, Derek Underwood, Matt Walker and Todd Walker.
Honorary escort was the Sonshine Sunday School Class of Victor Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank Janis Gary, Debra Gary, Lisa Elkins, Genelle Dominick, Bobbie Ruff, Mary Jones, Mary Ruff and Dr. Michael Bernardo for their kind and compassionate care.
