George was a very good friend who will be missed. I greatly enjoyed working with George at the Naval War College Library. His love of history was very deep especially in the Civil War. I will miss his friendship and the many talks we had on history and many other topics. George you will be missed.

So sorry to hear about George. I worked with him daily at the Naval War College and enjoyed it immensely. He had a low key personality except when it came to the subject of lowering the U.S. Flag for anything other than a very important event. He could quote the law about it. His other great interest was reenactments and it was always great to hear his stories about it. He had a good sense of humor and I enjoyed him very much. Please accept my sympathy.

George was like a brother to me that I never had. We were colleagues, we reenacted together, and he was my best friend. George was always there to lending a hand to anyone in need. I will miss his stories, jokes, dry humor, and the times we spent together. The campfire will be a little lonelier without you being there. However, your memory and love will be carried in our hearts and minds forever. Grace, this is a difficult time, and my words cannot adequately express my deepest condolence for you. If you need anything, please ask and I will assist as best I can. May God keep both you and George in his warm embrace.

My wife and I got to know George while at a Civil War reenactment in Framingham (Eastleigh Farm, 2018). A true gentleman and historian. Rest In Peace....
