Steven Pierce Obituary
CHAMPAIGN - Steven A. Pierce, 73, of Champaign died Wednesday (July 23, 2025).
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Wilton Mortuary, 2101 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria, is in charge of arrangements.

RIP Steve! The last time I saw Steve after high school was when we were on a bus headed for Chicago. It was in the summer of 1972. There was a number of us from Centennial. Some were headed up the get our initial draft physicals! Others were going for their induction physical.

Steve was one of the greatest guys a friend to all. So good to see other classmates messages, your photo would be fun to see as we are all getting on in life at an age where more and more are dropping off the grid but living with us in spirit. Rod, I relate that same memory often about cashing in pop bottles at Huber´s and sometimes even trick or treating there for Free candy. YUM
We have such a collection of good people to draw memories from, not all kids are that lucky. This is all about Steve and he was a gem!! His family and friends will remember him fondly, always a good word and a pleasant smile!

R.I.P. Cousin! From our Strohl/Pierce family reunions in Lodge Park Monticello to just two weeks ago on the phone, you were always there. I will miss our talks and sharing memories. Family, friend, classmate and teammate you are and will be missed.

I've known Steve for as long as I can remember. He lived across the street and was one of the 13 kids on Hill Street that we had grown up with. Hill was dead-end
with Russell & Sabin Avenue. We played a lot of kick soccer, true memories.

Steve was to our circle of friends, "The Dude", the Big Lebowski! Taking it easy for all of us." He was easy to laugh, good natured and kind hearted. Will miss you Steve.

Steve was always larger than life in any ways. I grew up with him and others now gone and we used to play in Eisner park ... as I recall almost every day in the summer. We would Cole t pop bottles and then cash them in at Huber´s for all kinds of candy that were in big glass bottles behind the bar!
Memories that I´ll never forget. So sorry to his family for his loss.

Met Steve in 1967 at Jefferson Junior High school in Champaign, Illinois. Graduated from Centennial High school in 1970 with him, playing football and other sports with him thru those years. Had many good moments with him in later years as well. He will be missed.
