John Valentine Obituary
Military Veteran
John C Valentine of Edgewater, Florida, passed away on June 17, 2016 in the home he built surrounded by his family. He was born in East St. Louis, Illinois to John and Marie Wojtczuk. He is survived by wife Elizabeth (Betty Feltmann) Valentine, two sons, William Valentine and John Chris Valentine (Stacey), one daughter, Jennifer Valentine Gavin (Eric), grandchildren Mariah, Kara, Riley, Jamieson, Addison and sister Lucia Maxfield. John graduated from East St. Louis High (Class of 61). He proudly served his country with two tours in Viet Nam as a US Marine (CPL) and was a member of the VFW local 4250. Studying electrical engineering at SIU Edwardsville in Illinois, he began his career at Sunline Candy Company (South St. Louis, MO.) and went on to join the Aerospace Industry supporting the space shuttle and unmanned rocket launch programs at Cape Canaveral & Kennedy Space Center. He retired in 2003. Services and interment will be in St Louis, MO with burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Memory of John to charities he supported: the USMC Toys for Tots (online,) the Make a Wish Foundation (online,) or Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Services will be in St Louis, MO with burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Share a memory with the family at www.BaldwinCremation.com.

To the entire Valentine family, we are all saddened by the loss of your father and United States Marine Corps veteran, who stepped up when he heard the call of duty for his country and undoubtedly later on his family as well. His dedication rings true in the words of the Corps, Semper Fidelis ( always faithful) Rest In Peace Marine, well played.

Dear Valentine family - I was so sad to hear about John. I have some wonderful memories of all of us from "back then" and the good times we had when the kids were little.I hope that your good memories of John will comfort you in the months ahead.
