MICHAEL AMENT Obituary

Michael Ray Ament 9/2/1964 - 3/27/2010, 45, of DeLand, FL passed away on Saturday,
March 27, 2010 at Florida Hospital DeLand. He is survived by his mother, Pamela Brown of DeLand; brother, Mark Ament of Ft. Lauderdale; sons, Christopher Ament (currently attending school in Gainesville) and Justin Ament, both of Ft. Lauderdale; daughter, Jessica Ament of Ft. Lauderdale. We will miss Mike's quick smile and sense of humor. Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand is in charge of arrangements.

Mike was way too young to know the pain and discomfort he lived with. We met when I was in 3rd grade and we went to Hortt, Rogers and Stranahan together and of course the hangout Little Yankee. Then a few years ago at baseball I saw the last name Ament on a lineup as I was keeping score at my sons baseball game-life comes full circle, my kids and his are friends now. May everyone smile at the mention of his name as we remember the good ole days and know he is watching over his family. God Bless.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Mikes passing. Even though I had not seen Mike for many years I often thought of him. He will always be in my heart and part of my fondest memories. My deepest condolences to the Ament family.

There are countless memories back in our DRAGON DAYS, "Stranahan High" that we all still relish today. Mike was a kind, gentle, caring and had an even kilter spirit.
Mike was a fabulous chef and a good friend to many. Your loss will be a great saddening to those in the living world, but they're a those in heaven

Mikey was one of my favorite kids growing up. He played baseball and football at Little Yankee w/ my boys Rick and Scott. Always a beautiful smile and that blonde curley hair. Mike was always a dear friend to me and a true gentleman. We all grew up on the same block and he was like a "big brother" to me. He had been in my thoughts lately and I had mentioned to a few people that I wanted to plan a trip to see him. We should never put off the important things in our lives. I will miss him. We were so sad to hear that Mike passed away. Although we know he is in a better place, it is still difficult to accept life without him. He was one of the nicest, most easygoing guys I have ever met. He will definitely be missed.
