William Whitlock Obituary

July 2, 1940-November 1, 2015

Bill Whitlock, 75, of New Smyrna beach, died Sunday, November 1, 2015. There will be a memorial service in his honor Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32129. If you traveled along Clyde Morris Blvd, near the intersection of Herbert St., I am sure you had seen Bill. Donning a large straw hat, dark glasses, long sleeve shirt, tall white rubber boots, doing what he loved best…..Yard work! Whether he was growing vegetables, planting a tree, or building /remodeling the home, he enjoyed working with his hands. And rarely might you find him sitting in his lawn chair under one of his favorite trees enjoying the company of a passerby. He knew no strangers. Always proud of a job well done, he instilled in all of us a good work ethic, and we thank him for that! Dad, as Jesus walked in your garden with you may you be walking in His. It is time to hang up your hat and put away your gloves and Rest in Peace. Bill is preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Carole Beth Kilpatrick, and four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his faithful wife of 57 years, Carolann; three children: Barbara Crosby, Jeff Whitlock and Susan Bennett; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Services 11 a.m. Wed., Nov. 18, 2015.
