Florence Saunders Obituary
Our beloved mother, Florence Saunders 96, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, so she could join her husband, Walter, on what would have been their seventy-second wedding anniversary. She earned a Business Degree and during World War II worked at the Pentagon in Washington DC. While in Washington, she meet the love of her life, her husband Walter. They lived and worked in High Point NC and St Louis, MO. In 1956 they moved to Springfield MO, where they remained for the rest of their lives. Florence was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She loved her family and provided an excellent role model for her children. She was a Girl Scout Leader, enjoyed gardening, reading, walking, and puzzle solving. She is survived by her three daughters: Brenda with her husband Tyler, Della, and Patricia with her husband William; Five grandchildren: Terry, Wendy, Erin, Megan with her husband Joe, and John with his wife Katie; and four great grandchildren: Ava, Tyler, Sadie, and Zoe. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11 at Springfield National Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent care she received from Hospice Compassus, and the love, laughter, and compassion that surrounded her each day by her extended family of home caregivers.

Sorry to the family for your loss. We lived across the street from Florence about 18 years ago. She would always call us to come over and go to the basement when the tornado sirens went off, again deepest condolences from the Crouch family.

We are so sorry for your loss. We all have fond memories Of your Mom, what a sweet and caring person. Our Mom felt very blessed to have her as a neighbor and friend. Mom passed away in 2003. We are all thinking of you all at this time. Love the Marshall girls, Mary Manning, Linda Snadon, and Carla Stepp.
