Obituary

Leo "Shorty" Hardy, 70 of Lake Placid, FL passed away February 9, 2007 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born on November 8, 1936 in Nashville, GA and moved to Lake Placid in 1941 where he resided until 1956 when he moved to Fort Myers to work in the rock mines as a heavy equipment operator.

He returned to Lake Placid with his wife of 48 years in 2005 to enjoy fishing and long time friends and classmates. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to many.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Hardy, a son, Roy (Donna) Hardy of Lehigh Acres, two daughters, Cindy (Buddy) Dyal of Sumterville and Lorrie (Bill) Whited, of Cape Coral, a brother, Cecil (Juanita) Hardy of Orlando, three sisters, Louise Looney of NC, Ethel (Lavern) Summers of Sebring and Kathleen (Leo) Bryant of NC. Four grandchildren, Sean and Danielle Hardy and Steven and Joey Dyal and eight great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at the National Cremation Society and Funeral Home, 3453 Hancock Bridge Pkwy., North Fort Myers on March 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Pastors Oz Ramkissoon and Bill Basansky officiating. The family will receive friends after 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
