Obituary

Norman R. Fillmore, 67, formerly of Fort Myers, FL died Monday, June 9, 2008, at the Hardee Manor Healthcare Center in Wauchula, FL, after an extended illness. Norman was born June 30, 1940 in Bloomington, IL to Loren Fillmore (deceased) and Hazel (Gaddis) Fillmore of Oxnard, CA. Norman attend Normal Community High School, Normal, IL He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and again in the United States Air Force serving tours of duty in Japan, Thailand and Vietnam. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Fort Myers, FL for many years retiring in 2001.

He is survived by his wife Rita, son Greg Fillmore, Plainfield, IL, daughter, Tina Roesch, Bloomington, IL, three stepchildren Dana, Greg and Marc Sweeney, Sebring, FL, six grandchildren, Heidi Roesch, Brynley Nasseri, Christopher Fillmore, Wendi Roesch, Ashley Johnson and Jacob Fillmore, three great grandchildren, McKenna Nasseri, Samantha Fillmore and Brecken Nasseri. Also surviving are his brother, Jay Fillmore and four sisters, Wanda Kennedy, Caroline Ream, Sue Durda and Sandy Warfield.

His military graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Zion Cemetery, Towanda, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army in his name.

We are sorry to hear of his passing. We knew him for many years as a patient in the office. He was a very nice man and glad to have met him.

My send my sincere condolences to Norm's wife, Rita, and to all of his children (natural and step) and grandchildren. I send special condolences to our mother; I know her heart is breaking as she comes to terms with having to say goodbye to one of her children.
