Obituary

Richard L. Rayl, 76, Fort Myers, FL, died at Sunday, December 17, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born in Kokomo, IN on September 8, 1930 the son of William and Nellie (Bone) Rayl. Richard "Dick" was married to Ladonna Rayl, who preceded him in death. He was then married to Wanda Gose Rayl who survives.

Richard was a successful Kokomo businessman who also owned the well-known Casa Grande Restaurant. He later became a commercial real estate developer and owner of Soupley's Wine and Spirits. He was known as a generous man and enjoyed golfing with his family and friends.

He attended Crossroads Community Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda, daughter, Dana Rayl West, son David Rayl and wife Melody, daughters Julie Traylor and Karen Robertson and husband Joseph, son Kyle Rayl and wife Lisa, one step-son Richard Allen Gose and wife Jackie, one god-daughter Paula Foster and husband John, 13 grandchildren, Casey Rayl West, Ryan and Jesse Rayl, Amanda and Marissa Traylor, Matt and Kyle Gilbert, Katie and Kristin Rayl, Taylor, Lukas, Ellen, and Raechel Gose, Ashley and Phillip Foster, two brothers George A. Rayl and wife Judy, Bob Rayl and wife Joan, and five sisters Violet McQuiston, Dorothy Stockdale, Mary E. Jones, Betty Poe, and Sue Adams and husband Dan. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, one brother Leonard Rayl and one sister Mary Jane Walls.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2006 at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN with Pastor Jeff Harlow officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard L. "Dick" Rayl Memorial Fund of the Community Foundation of Howard County, 202 North Main Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46901. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
