Zella Lucille Morris 4/28/1931 - 5/16/2023 Zella Lucille (Stacy) Morris passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023, at her home in Midwest City, OK. Born April 28, 1931 to Roy and Celestia (Maxwell) Stacy, in Pittsburg, KS, she was the fourth of four children. While growing up, she moved several times with her family, staying in the Arkansas and Missouri area until settling in Newalla/McLoud, OK in 1937 Zella graduated from McLoud High School in 1949 and graduated from Draughn Business School in 1950. She worked for Monogram Pictures and Smith and Howell Attorneys in Oklahoma City. She married Dixie H. Wright in 1952 and lived on different Air Bases in the U.S. and Germany until Dixie's retirement in 1967. During that time, she worked for the Air Force OSI, and as secretary to the Deputy Base Commander of Grand Forks AFB. Returning to McLoud, Zella worked as McLoud High School Principal secretary from 1970-1974. Then, she worked at Tinker AFB as a scheduler/controller in the Engine Division, eventually retiring as Chief of Engine Management and Records in 1990. She married Bob Wayne Morris in 1993. They lived in Moore, OK until Bob's death in 2013. Needing something to do after retiring, in the following 16 years she managed an apartment complex, managed a senior nutrition site and worked for Enterprise Car Rental. She was also active with the Double Nickle Square Dance Club of Oklahoma City and the Fun Timers Square Dance Club of Midwest City. Zella is survived by her two children, Edena Harris of Midwest City and Michael (Mickey) Wright of Kingwood, TX, five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and "grands." A memorial service will be held on Sat., June 10th, 10:00am, at Sunnylane Family Church in Del City, OK. A private internment for immediate family will follow.
