Isabelle Caroline Hoffman Wallin

Isabelle Caroline Hoffman Wallin, 82, of Lynchburg, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009. She was the wife of the late Robert Alan Wallin Sr.

Mrs. Wallin was born Oct. 1, 1927, in Millwood, a daughter of the late Edward Harrison Hoffman Jr. and Georgia Anna Estep Hoffman. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, a golfer and bridge club member and loved to cook and work in her yard.

She is survived by her son, Robert A. Wallin Jr., and his wife, Susan, of Lynchburg; two sisters, Virginia P. Hoffman and Mary H. Wood, both of Front Royal; two grandchildren, Robert A. Wallin III and wife, Amber, of Cape May, N.J., and Matthew H. Wallin and wife, Kristen, of Lynchburg; two step-grandchildren, Mandy Falwell and husband, David, and Rick Bradner and wife, Catrina, of Lynchburg; two great-grandchildren, Stella and Adeline Wallin; and six step great-grandchildren and her faithful dog, Dakota.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, Oct. 20, 2009, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Front Royal with the Rev. Deborah W. Rutter officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Front Royal.
