Joan was so kind and caring. She was not judgmental or closed minded. She and Tommy were welcoming and giving and always made me feel a part of any activity. She was my second favorite Roberts girl, second only to my mother Lillian. Jo was an inspiration to me and my success with her class and vision. She will always be in my heart.

I have known Joan since the late 1980's when I would phone direct from San Francisco Calif to have flowers delivered to my family who live in Wildwood...I often spoke to Joan & enjoyed talking to her...when I went to visit my family, I'd bring Ghiradelli chocolates to the store to thank Joan & the others I had spoken to over the years...Joan loved the chocolates...My heartfelt sympathy and love go out to her family, friends & coworkers and all who knew her...She will be missed. I know that my mom, Kay Walsh(Wildwood), also spoke to her over the years to send flowers to us scattered children and she will miss her also.

Dear Kandy...so sorry to see that your MOM has passed away....was glad I got to see her, several weeks ago, when the two of you came in my shop....My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this dificult time. Although you knew it was ineveitable, given the circumstances, it is still hard to bear when the end finally comes. You surely know you were, and always will be HER BABY. Kandy and Gary, I know the pain you must be feeling at this time. Your mom always held a special place in my heart as do the two of you. "Jo", as mom used to call her, represented class and grace to Mom. She was an inspriation to me in this way as well. Jo's vision and direct approach always impressed me and supported my sense of self. I will always be there for you. "Johnny" Obenchain

Kandy, Gary & Families,
I was very sad to learn of your mom's death, what a SWEET, WONDERFUL lady she was. She was a special neighbor to our family, my dad(Morris)& mom (Lillian) thought the world of her (as we all did). We could always depend on her expert design for beautiful floral arrangements when we needed them.(Kandy you are filling her shoes very nicely) My dad enjoyed taking care of her hay fields, clearing the snow from her driveway and doing what he could to help her out after your dad's death. I'm confident that her death leaves a HUGE hole in each of your hearts and a BIG missing link in your family chain, but I know you are grateful that she does not have to suffer any longer and battle that monster disease. Please know that each of you have my heartfelt & deepest sympathy & are in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.

My prayers and love go out to you. Your Mom was an inspiration to me when I was just a young girl; watching her doing what she loved with such flair and promise. Mrs Arthur was successful with career and family. I will so miss her big smile and laughs. I think of her everytime I make a grilled cheese sandwich as I learned how to make those at her house. I love you all so much and will always remember growing up in your house for many years
