John Pilot Obituary

Dr. John Frank Pilot went to the Great Beyond on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, after a life-long battle against death and taxes. He is survived by everyone who is still alive, but most importantly by the love of his life, Carol.

John's life is based on a true story (Ver 1.0). He had an illustrious career doing something that seemed important at the time. He was a member of both Sam's Club, and Border's Book of the Month Club, until it went bankrupt. His interests included reading the jokes in borrowed copies of the Reader's digest, and trying to find a good movie on Direct TV.

In lieu of flowers, John prehumously asked that any donation on his behalf be kept in your wallet for your own family's benefit, perhaps to provide them with a little sunshine on a rainy day, or perhaps to get some treats for your pets.

But, just in case some generous benefactor wishes to donate a tombstone, John asked that the inscription should be, "If you are reading this, then there surely is life after death."

Finally, while I (John) wrote all of the above while laughing at the grim-reaper, it is my last and truly most sincere request that everyone should be kind to the most wonderful human being I have ever been blessed to meet in my whole life -- my wife Carol -- the absolute and true love of my life. What more can anyone ask.

Thank you, Carol, you're the best thing that ever happened to me while our tomorrows may be taken away, nothing can stop our yesterdays,

For Now and Forever,

John

PS: "Love endures when they love not just each other, but many things together." (Walter Lippman)

But, in the meantime, have all the fun and happiness you deserve. And, if by chance you meet someone for good companionship, embrace your new happiness and enjoy life!!! There's more than enough of your pleasant personality for everyone.

PPS- In all seriousness, John developed 17 patents over his long work life. During the Viet Nam war, John worked for Walter Reed Army Institute developing a cure for Malaria and an anti-radiation vaccine. He created an anti-cancer medication that is still in use today. The majority of his patents were for the printing industry. He loved his work so much, at the age of 58 his job was downsized and he was an old bachelor.

John's "life" began when at 58 years of age he realized he wanted, needed more from life. John and I were married for 23 1/2 years and enjoyed a wonderful, fun filled life. He will be sorely missed by the family, friends and his best friend - Buttons. But most of all, my soul-mate has left a huge hole in my heart and life, the Love of My Life.

Ihave no memory of Mr pilot as I did not know him
Judging by his prehumorous obituary as the younger people among us he had it going on
I like his attitude. Hope things work out for the oldarried guy
Keep as people like to your chin up
If you can the rest of your body too

I am not related to John Pilot, nor have I ever met him. But, given his definition of survivors, I guess I am one. His obituary was one of the best I´ve ever read. And, if in life he was half as humorous as his obit, I wish I had known him. His deep love for his wife Carol is abundantly clear, and I send her my sincere sympathy for the loss of a man who must have been a joy to live with.
