Helen Donohue Obituary

Donohue - Helen Ann, 97 years of age, born October 22, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY, passed away in her Garden City home on Sunday, May 4, in the company of her son, daughter-in-law, and a close friend, after a 55 year battle with multiple sclerosis. Helen is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Kerrin of Merrick, NY, and Paul and Carolyn of Charlotte, NC; as well as nine grandchildren, Kyle (Sarah),

Kelly (Andrew Schuerlein), Molly, Brendan, Will, Gavin (Brittany), John, Liam, and Nolan. She also leaves behind many close friends, family, and neighbors, all who were touched by her joy for life, quick wit, and love for those around her. Helen was born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and raised her family in East Williston, Long Island, before moving to Garden City in 1999. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard

Donohue; and her daughter, Lorraine; and her parents, Stella and Steven Zenchuk. Visitation will be at Weigand Bros. Funeral Home in Williston Park, on Friday, May 9, from 4:00pm - 8:00pm, and the Funeral will be held at St. Joseph's in Garden City on Saturday at 9:30am, May 10. Interment St. Charles Cemetery.
