It has been one year since my father passed. I think of him often and thank him for the greatest gift he bestowed on me. I have inherited his talent for poetry and writing. I know he is looking down on me with pride.

Joseph Finno was my dad and the most affectionate, giving, and sincere person I ever knew. Not a day goes by where I don't stop and think of something special that he's done Whether it was helping with school projects, feeding ducks at the park, or as I got older, advice on life and love. I love you dad, and will always and forever be your little baby girl. In my heart of hearts you will stay.

Joseph Finno was my father. I will cherish all the childhood memories I have of him. He inspired me with his sense of humor and shared with me his wisdom which led me to success in my personal life. I will always remember him fondly and I look foward to seeing him again someday in the afterlife. I hope that he is happy and that he found peace. To my father Joe, I love you and I think you were the best father a daughter could ever want or hope to wish for.

I am greatfull that I got to share in the last few days of my granfather's life. Distance had kept us apart for far to long, but now I cherish the memory of our time together in the last month of his life. Although he was unable to speak at the end, I could read his thoughts in the furrow of his brow or the expression on his lips. In a group he was always charming, funny, and charasmatic, but when you were alone with him he let you know exactly what was on his mind. I have recently started a family tree for the family that I will make into a book for my father, Joseph F. Finno III, so that he will have a way for his fathers memory to live on in a tangible way. Unfortunately I have limited knowledge of our family's history. If anyone has anything they would like to contribute, (names, dates, relatives, life experiences), please contact me at [email protected]. My heart is eased by the knowledge that my grandfather has finally moved on to his next adventure.

When last the journey ends
and air to thick to breathe,
a soft and solom silence
will fill the space you leave.
Your daily life's impressions may fade without a trace,
but the memory of you
all of time cannot erase.

I worked with Joe at the DPW in HIcksville in 1975 to 1982. We had many talks at his Stationary engineer position in HIcksvile, and were very inspirational. Joe had great insight, and wondeful humor. Many times I wish I took his advice.
