Richard MORGAN Obituary

MORGAN - Richard, 82, entered into eternal peace in his home on Saturday, April 13, 2013 with his family by his side. He was a 30 year resident of Garden City, New York. Dick was born May 2, 1930 in Mt. Holly, NJ to Marion and Victor Morgan. He served in the Airforce for four years and then went on to a successful career in electronics distribution with Hamilton Avnet that spanned 33 years. After coming out of retirement to serve as a consultant to Partminer Electronics for several years, Dick decided to focus on his true passion - delighting others with his culinary talents. His incomparable Christmas feasts and gourmet barbecues will never be forgotten. Richard is survived by his wife, Bonnie, children Linda, Ricky, Devon and Meredith and 11 beautiful grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice Care Network, 99 Sunnyside Blvd., Woodbury, NY 11797

Dear Bonnie: many years ago I worked with Dick at H/A in Westbury. He was a great guy, may he rest in peace.

Bonnie, so very sad to hear the news. I was Dick's secretary at Avnet 1976 for a few years. I still remember the beautiful end of the month banquets he would prepare for the office. Always in celebration of a job well done. He would send me out for the goodies and I soon realized my palatte needed educating. He always appreciated the teams efforts and rewarded their hard work. I still keep those pictures in my head and think of him to this day when doing my own parties A good man, manager and good good person The world his a better place for having had him as part of it. Dear Bonnie,

I was deeply saddened to hear of your families loss. As you may remember we worked together in the city at PartMiner during the 90's but had remained in contact after I moved to UK.
Dick was one of the most memorable people I have ever worked with who freely shared his experiences with what was an otherwise young crew. He became somewhat of a mentor to many.
His passion, insight, astuteness and enthusiasm will be fondly remembered. He'll be missed by many.
My sincerest condolences.

Bonnie, I just learned about your loss. I always enjoyed Dick's company and credited him for getting me interested in creating great things in the kitchen. I did get to visit with him several weeks ago while he was in the Glenn Cove facility and reminded him of some of the good times we shared. My deepest condolences to you and his family.
