It was a pleasure knowing Walter and working for him. He will be missed and I remember running into him after he retired it was in Smithtown going to the small doll shop to get items for his granddaughter doll house. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren. May he rest in peace. God Bless

I had the great fortune of meeting Walter when I began researching the history of the bay houses. He was full of wonderful stories and allowed us to bring people to his bay house during the early years of our tours. May he rest in peace and have lots of clams in the afterlife.

Walter was a good man, husband, father, grandfather and public servant. Due to title changes in Nassau County, Walter was the last person to hold the title of Warden at the Nassau County Correctional Center. He will be remembered and missed. May God have mercy on his soul and comfort his family.

My deepest sympathy to the Stenzel family. Walter was such a loving man. I remember meeting him and Doris for the 1st time when I worked at Sonny's, I knew I would get along well with them when Doris said she was a Jett's fan. He was a kind, sincere, caring man. May you know that he is up in heaven smiling down on us.
