Warren Schaefer Obituary

Schaefer - Warren, of Plainedge, LI, on May 20, 2021. Cherished father of Mackenzie Savaiano (Eric). Loving grandfather of Remy and Clara. Beloved brother of Barbara Kirby, Irene Meeuwisse (Casey), Paul Schaefer and Vincent Schaefer (MaryEllen). Warren began a 19-year career as a teacher in BOCES before turning his attentions to film and theater. He formed his own video production company creating pieces for PBS, YES, SNY and ESPN, meeting greats like Muhammad Ali along the way. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies and was an avid artist, storyteller and actor. His rich baritone voice graced most LI stages for over 4 decades. While the roles he played changed, Warren never retired from live theater. His favorite role was that of proud father and grandfather delighting in creating storybooks about the fun adventures he shared with them. Warren will always be remembered for filling the lives of his friends and family with love, laughter, music and a passion for life. He loved life at any stage and lived it to the fullest! Warren, your song may have ended but the melody lingers on! God bless! In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to your favorite theater or charity.

Warren was a great guy. We worked on many a video production and while creating these professional pieces, we also had lots of laughs and fun. My condolences.
