Lillie Marie McWhorter, 88, of Connersville went home to be with the Lord, Friday morning, July 4, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Lillie was born June 26, 1937, in Fayette County, one of 10 children of the late Will and Minnie Fouty Hedrick.
She had resided in Connersville for most of her adult life, where she was employed as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Richmond and Residential CRF. After moving to London, Kentucky Lillie was employed at Wal-Mart.
Lillie married Kenneth Wayne McWhorter in London, Kentucky where they resided. Mr. McWhorter passed away on May 15, 2014.
Following his passing, Lillie moved back to Connersville in 2018 to be with her family.
Lillie was a member of the London Community Baptist Church. In her leisure time, she enjoyed working in her flower garden at her home.
Survivors include five children, Melissa (Charles) Adkins, Donnie (Lori) Lynch, Ronnie (Mary) Lynch, Sharon (Joe) Pollitt, and Diane (Mitch) Selby, all of Connersville; a brother, Charles Duncan; a sister, Velma J. Hill; a very special sister-in-law, Mary Sester of London, Kentucky. Lillie was blessed with a countless number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Kenneth Wayne McWhorter, Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Minnie Hedrick; a son, Lonnie Ray Lynch; three brothers, Frank Hedrick, Lee Hedrick, and John Hedrick; five sisters, Anna Pearl Hedrick, Daisy Hahn, Mary Horning, Blanch Wildridge, and Ruby Rice; a grand-daughter, Desiree L. Lynch.
Friends and family may visit from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Pastor John Reynolds officiating. On Friday, July 11 from 12-2 p.m. a service will be held at Lakes Funeral Home located at 1181 Main St. S., McKee, KY 40447. Burial will be in Holcomb Memorial Cemetery.
Lillie's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to AseraCare Hospice for the compassionate care they provided. A special thank you goes to her nurse, Megan, with whom Lillie shared a deeply cherished bond.
