Phyllis Jean Snedeker, age 94, passed away on Sunday May 8, 2022, at Miller's Merry Manor in Rushville. She was born on August 29, 1927, in Connersville, the daughter of the late Gilbert L. and Vivian Toney Gardner.
Phyllis was a 1944 graduate of Alquina High School and a member of Alquina United Methodist Church. In her youth she was a member of 4-H and the Rural Youth Club. She loved to sew, being outdoors and mowing the yard.
On April 22, 1950, she became the wife of Donald E. Snedeker. Mr. Snedeker passed in 2000. They spent 50 years together before his passing and were blessed with two children. They were member of a square dance club also.
She helped on the farm for over 48 years. She and Donald had shown hogs all over the United States including Chicago and New York. She also had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Bernzott for 17 years and at Sandee's Danz Explosion for 12 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Phillip) Snedeker-Toschlog; grandchildren, Jason (Audrey) Cloyd, Stephanee (JD) Roberts, Brandon (Julie) Snedeker and Sydnee (Kyle) Jobe; great grandchildren, Bryce Cloyd, Brady Cloyd, Ava Ford, Jake Roberts, Jack Roberts, Joe Roberts, and Jude Roberts, Brandon Snedeker, Jr., Keith Snedeker, Bruce Snedeker, Danee Jobe and Riley Jobe; Sister Maridene (Herb) Miller; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded by her son, Danny Snedeker; a brother, Charles Gardner; and a sister, Ruth Ann Corbin.
Friends and family may gather at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville, on Sunday May 22, 2022, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 pm.
