Joan was born December 23, 1922 in York, PA to Albert and Amanda (Ruppert) Bare and moved to Panama City in 1953 coming from Key West. Joan or as she is better known by, J. Bare Wilson, was a world class artist who founded the Realist Art Association and well known for her mentoring to many up & coming artists. She was an art educator but more than that, she would want to be remembered as a powerful prayer warrior.

Joan is survived by her children, Karon Wakstein of Panama City, Craig (Cindy) Wilson of Pensacola and Chyspa Ross of Panama City Beach; her sister, Katy Bare Moore of Baltimore, MD; her grandchildren, Suzanne (Bill) Minor, Melissa Rollins, Brad (Beth) Wakstein, Josh (Eroica) Wakstein and John Patrick Adams, Jr. and her great-grandchildren, Katy Minor, Logan Rollins and Bella, Hylee and Cooper Wakstein.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 1-2 pm at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home where funeral services will take place that day at 2pm. Interment will take place in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Joan's memory to the Ronald McDonald House of Pensacola or to Reconciliation Outreach.net.
