SHAMOKIN — Paul J. Krayniak, 92, of 253 S. Market St., passed away Sunday evening, May 28, 2017, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.
He was born Aug. 4, 1924, in Shamokin, a son of the late Paul J. and Mary (Denarski) Krayniak.
Paul was the owner and operator of the former P.K. Chrysler-Plymouth in Tharptown for many years. He truly enjoyed talking with people and selling cars. He also was involved in various other business enterprises throughout his life.
He was a member of Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shamokin.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing at their cottage along Penn's Creek. He was always willing to help anyone in need and was very generous with his resources.
Paul is survived by a son, Paul Jeffrey Krayniak, of Shamokin; a daughter, Sandra Peck, of Trevorton Road; and his life companion, Dolores Mall, of Shamokin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Denarski, and a brother, Joseph Kraynock.
KRAYNIAK — Paul J. Krayniak, 92, of 253 S. Market St., Shamokin. A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shamokin, with the Rev. Mykola Ivanov as celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Coal Township. Viewing will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin.
