IRISH VALLEY — Steven J. "Beeb" Yost Jr., 19, of 307 Hemlock Road, Irish Valley, and formerly of Dornsife, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Irish Valley.

Born Jan. 3, 1996, in the Bloomsburg Hospital, he was a son of Steven J. Yost Sr., of Irish Valley, and Denise L. (Henninger) Gonsar, of Dornsife.

He was a 2014 graduate of Line Mountain High School. He also attended the Northumberland County Career and Technology Center and was an honors student in the welding program.

He was employed as an ironworker with Kevin Raker Construction, Augustaville.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery and motocross riding. He had many friends and was a weekend warrior.

Steve was a man of little words and big dreams. His amazing infectious smile and large heart was known by all he loved and all who loved him.

Most importantly, he held the Lord close to his heart, and was a most loving son and a best brother.

Survivors include his paternal grandparents, James R. Yost Sr. and his wife, Patricia, of Bethlehem, and Eleanor "Mam Peach" Evans and her, husband, Robert "Pap Geek," of Shamokin; maternal grandfather, Harold H. "Rab" Gonsar III and his wife, Fern, of Trevorton; his father, Steven J. Yost Sr. and his fiancée, Lori Simonelli, of Irish Valley; his mother, Denise L. Gonsar and her husband, Harold H. "Rab Jr." IV, of Dornsife; two sisters, Stephanie A. Yost, of Trevorton, and Emily M. Gonsar, of Dornsife; aunts and uncles including Dorrine Rakoski and her husband, William, of Enola, Linda K. Long and her husband, Kevin, of Trevorton, Thomas W. Henninger and his wife, Trish, of Shamokin Dam, John R. Henninger and his wife, Rhonda, of Coal Township, Stacy Shingara and her husband, James, of Trevorton Road, Susan Schweitzer and her husband, David, of Shamokin, James "Mim" Yost and his wife, Lori, of Coal Township, Darrell Evans and his wife, Andrea, of Herndon, Debra Shipe and her husband, Sam, of Coal Township, and Robert Evans Sr., of Ephrata; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mio O. "Mitzi" Henninger; maternal grandfather, John F. Smith; maternal great-grandmothers, Doris Gonsar and Margaret Dunkelberger; and paternal great-grandmother, Martha Bressi.

FUNERAL NOTICE

YOST — Steven J. "Beeb" Yost Jr., 19, of 307 Hemlock Road, Irish Valley. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 35 S. Second St., Shamokin, with the Rev. Ferd Madara presiding. Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park Cemetery, Stonington. Friends will be received at the church from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, is assisting the family with arrangements.
