George Holmes Obituary
New Mexico - George William Holmes, 64 of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018.
He was born on August 13, 1953, in Washington D.C. to the late Nancy (Lawson) Holmes and George Anderson. He was educated in Washington D.C. and graduated from the Postal Street Academy High School. As a teenager he proudly worked for P.R.I.D.E. an agency instituted by former Mayor Marion Barry. He attended Mt. Horeb Baptist Church in Washington D.C. and The New Institutional Baptist Church in Arizona.
After serving in the U.S. Marine Corp, he lived in Washington, D.C., Staunton, VA, Phoenix, AZ and later relocated to New Mexico. While living there for over 40 years he enjoyed working at the Albuquerque Job Corp Center and Martial Arts earning a black belt and winning awards in many tournaments.
George is survived by a son, Roman J. Holmes (Laura); daughter, Erika D. Andrus (Adrian); four grandchildren; two sisters, Cinda J. Holmes and Caroline Anderson; former wife, Denny (McNair) Holmes; several aunts; an uncle; four nieces and many other relatives.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Staunton, Virginia.

The day we are born is the same day we start to walk toward death and eternal life by giving our lives to the Lord. Our road to Christ is straight and narrow but we chose the road we travel straight, paved, unpaved, rough or detours but as we give our life to the Lord we always comes back to the straight and narrow. I knew George for a short period of time and it was filled with laughter, saddness and adventure; he was always trying to move forward. The words of inspiration which I will speak is for the family because George can not hear nor speak to us for his journey in this life is over. Trust in the Lord, give your life to the Lord and the more you give the more he will give to you; God love is unconditional, his Grace and Mercay endures forever. Rest In Peace my friend and May the Blessing and Grace be upon the Family.

Cuz - I will truly miss you. We were trying our best to see your face before you left us, but atleast we got a chance to tell you that.
