Morris Dews Obituary
Staunton - Morris Jerry Dews, Jr., 75, husband of Joann (Battle) Dews, of Staunton, died Friday, December 11, 2020 at his residence.
He was born May 27, 1945 in Pittsylvania County, a son of the late Jerry Myers and Louise Odaie (Whitfield) Dews.
Mr. Dews was a self-employed mechanic who enjoyed working on cars.
In addition to his wife, family members include seven children, Ricky Dews, Ruby Dews, Shirley Tucker (James), Maurice Johnson, Jill Benel (Kevin), Jenny Hogue (David), and Edward Dews; three step-children, Tyran Stuart, Derrick Stuart, and Demarcus Battle; a brother, Charlie Dews (Derenda); three sisters, Julia Lovelace, Frances Tune (Austin), and Harriett Chambers (San Antonio); and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Myers Dews.
Per his request there will be no services.
Special thanks to his nurse, Carol Eye who took special care of him.
