Roger Jenkins Obituary

Roger C. Jenkins

Staunton - Roger Conway Jenkins, 82, of Staunton, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia.

He was born October 4, 1938 in Augusta County, Virginia the son of the late William and Viola (Obie) Jenkins.

He retired from Wayn-Tex in Waynesboro, Virginia.

Roger was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church and sang with the Men of Zion Chorus.

He volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was a foster parent to many children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Kimberly Fitch and several brothers and sisters.

Roger leaves to mourn, his wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Hudson) Jenkins; one daughter, Judith M. Jenkins; four sons, James C. Jenkins (Deborah), Roger A. Jenkins (LaShaun), Dwayne C. Jenkins (Renee) and William Toliver (Anna); 12 grandchildren, Shameeka Fitch, Maj. Brandon Shah (Katherine), Tasnim Shah, Shyrita Dionne, Cpt. Angela Jenkins-Davis (Don), Alisha Jenkins, Sgt. Rajah Jenkins (Angie), Elisha Jenkins, Mariah Jenkins-Gentry (Tevin), Karissa Jenkins and William A Toliver, II.; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Nola Crenshaw and Patricia Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the chapel of McCutcheon and Jones Funeral Home. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery. All Covid-19 guidelines will be followed.

I took care of Mr. Jenkins when he was up on 3rd floor at hospital. His smile could light up the room and we sang Christian Hymns together. That is a memory I will share with him forever. Love and prayers go out to the family.
