Angeline Stuckman Obituary

Angeline G. Stuckman
November 12, 1913 - January 13, 2013
Chapel Hill
Born in Quincy Illinois, Angeline (Angie) was one of three children of William and Salome Stuckman. She attended several local schools and colleges to train as an educator, and taught elementary school (mostly 4-5th grade) in Quincy for 40 years where it was common for her to encounter enthusiastic "children" of all ages who remembered fondly their time in her classroom. Angie traveled extensively, became an excellent watercolor artist late in life, volunteered at the Quincy Art Center, bowled and played tennis, and made trips to St. Louis and Chicago for performances and baseball games. At Age 90, Angie moved to Chapel Hill, NC to live with her niece, Alice Ammerman, husband (Tom Keyserling) and their 3 boys, where she became the neighborhood "Aunt," continued many of her activities and enjoyed flowers, watching birds, and her great-nephews' sporting events. In addition to her niece, she is survived by her nephew, James Ammerman, of Centerport, NY. A memorial service will be held at the home of Alice and Tom on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, 3:00 PM (505 Dogwood Dr., Chapel Hill, NC) and at some later time in Quincy, IL. Please contact Alice for more information: [email protected], (919)933-9129.

I am remembering Miss Stuckman as she was my 4th grade teacher many years ago, I never knew her first name only Miss. I am glad she was able to live a long life and hope that she enjoyed fairly good health.
