Jeff and Patty, Our son was Justin Straus who attended DA with Blake in the lower school (Justin and Jake Tillman were best buds). We can empathize with your pain as Justin died in 2008. Please know that we are here for you if it would help to talk with someone who has lost a child. It truly is the worst nightmare and our hearts are heavy knowing that another family is experiencing the very worst pain a parent can know. Heather Lee and Steve Straus - [email protected].

I don't know you or your family but I read Blake's story on a decorating blog of his cousins. What an amazing family. What a beautiful young man. The short legacy that Blake's life with bring to this world is so very powerful. I live in Arkansas and have heard Blake's story. What comfort his written words will give you knowing he is with God. I pray for you and your family. I pray for the 2 young men that where with Blake. God Bless you and hold you tight through your life.

Patty and Jeff, the family and kids were devastated to learn of Blake's passing. Many a tear has been shed by me and the Courtside family. We have all shared memories of our brief time with Blake. We all remember the summer workouts and the discussions on where everyone wanted to go to college and play tennis. Blake declared he was too young to decide but wanted to play at an ACC school when the time came. The bright sun of this summer will be dimmer without him! Our thoughts and prayers will remain with you for years to come!!! Randy Bailey

Jeff and Patty, thank you for partnering with God to create Blake Hubbard. Thank you too for memorializing Blake's life in such a powerful way, letting others be touched by this event and gaining their soul in our Lord and savior. From a coaches perspective Blake was a "PLAYER", he had that natural gift an athlete has to do things others can't. A "PLAYER" he was, he LOVED to PLAY, he LIVED to PLAY and ultimately he passed from us PLAYING. Most appropriately his memorial service was held in a house of PLAY,the gym at Trinity. All of God's Peace to you in this period of trial.

Blake's Family,
I did not know your son but I heard about him through my children who attend DA Middle School. I know they will honor him today with a moment of silence. I joined them in my home and lit a candle for your son. May the soft light of God's grace surround and sustain you now and always.

Dear Patty and Jeff,
We have all been so sad after hearing about Blake's tragic accident and our thoughts and prayers have been with you ever since. It brought back memories of loosing our own, almost full term baby, and realizing, this is SO much worse. Just remember life HAS to go on.
Blake was such a Sweethart . I always saw him with a smile on his face. Remember him sitting in the back of my car, before or after tennis practice, talking about practice and he had the most wonderful expressions, a bit precausious sometimes. People say he was quiet. He wasn't quiert in my car. He was talking and we were always laughing.

To Patty and all her family --
To Jim and Ella --

My heart breaks for you. Know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jeff and Patty:

We are so sorry and sad to hear the news of Blake's tragic accident.

Blake was such a wonderful and sweet boy. He and Bryan played a lot of tennis and Pingpong at the tennis club. They had so much fun together playing doubles in the tournaments. He was such a fighter. Never gave up any points even when he was injured. We always enjoyed watching him in the tournaments. We will really miss him.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I am so deeply sorry and sad to hear of Blake's passing. I know there are no words or thoughts that could I possibly write or say to help you deal with Blake's loss - nor could I begin to imagine the pain in your hearts. I have many fond memories of our children playing together and growing up in Hope Valley - that truly brings a smile to my face in all this sadness. May God bless and comfort you. Jeff, Patty, Robert and Lauren,
We are so very sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you and we love you. I have no words that can help you through this, but I will tell you that Jake loved Blake sooo much. He said he felt like Blake was a brother to him at the lake and that he always felt safe when Blake was around him. He was so kind to Jake and always tried to include him with the "big kids". We loved him and dearly love you all. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you. We will think of you and pray for you for the strength that only God can provide.
