Cynthia "Cindy" Lane Rossway, 56, died on August 13, 2012 while vacationing in Gettysburg PA. Cindy was born in Poughkeepsie NY, the daughter of Sylvia King and the late Howard Lane. She graduated from Arlington High School and married the love of her life Neil Rossway in 1974. Together they lived in Pleasant Valley NY, Dublin CA, Flemington NJ, Tampa FL and Wake Forest NC while raising two beautiful children, Jonathan and Jessica. Cindy was a lifelong pet lover. There was a continual procession of cats, dogs, gerbils, rabbits, birds and fish in her life. She was a member of the Flemington United Methodist church where she sang in the choir and was deeply involved with children and women's groups. She also was a lifelong supporter of World Vision sponsoring many children throughout the years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her hobbies included rubber stamping, collecting things from Christmas Ornaments to Beanie Babies to wicker baskets, reading, swimming and most importantly keeping abreast of the exploits of her immediate and extended family.
Cindy is survived by her husband Neil, her son Jonathan Rossway and his fiance Ashley Kobi of Gaithersburg MD, her daughter Jessica Rossway of Raleigh, her mother and stepfather Sylvia and Frank King of Raleigh, her sister and brother-in-law Barbara and William Maton of Wake Forest, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Joy King of Raleigh, brother and sister-in-law William and Marlene Lane of New Milford, CT, and brother and sister-in-law Michael and Jeanette Lane of New Milford CT. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Virginia Rossway of Pleasant Valley NY, 3 sisters-in-law, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, 17 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews, as well as countless friends spread across the country.
In accordance with Cindy's wishes, her remains were cremated and private memorial gatherings will be held in North Carolina and New York..
To honor Cindy's altruistic spirit, love of children and animals, donations in her name may be made to World Vision (www.worldvision.org) or The Humane Society (www. humanesociety.org).
