RALEIGH

Daryl Warren Cady, 70, of Raleigh, passed away at WakeMed on March 27,2017. Daryl was born in Kitsap County, Washington to the late William Darwood Cady and Florence Heath Cady. He was a veteran of the United States Marines having reached the rank of Captain and as a graduate of North Carolina State University Mr. Cady earned his BS degree in Civil Engineering. Mr. Cady is the founding president of Cady Construction. He has provided substantial business and community development in the North Raleigh-Wake Forest area.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock, Friday afternoon, March 31, 2017 at Living Word Family Church, 10520 Star Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.

Daryl is survived by his wife, Ekaterina Cady; sons, Christopher Andrew Cady and wife Courtney of Apex, Christopher Nicholas Dale of Cold Springs and Christopher Alexander "Alexii" Cady of Raleigh; brother, Charles "Chuck" Cady of Connecticut; sister, Susan Marie Cady of Raleigh; grandchildren, Dylan, Elijah and Drew. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Cady.

Memorial contributions may be made in Daryl's memory to Wake Forest Historical Museum, 414 N Main St, Wake Forest, NC 27587.

Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday evening at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, 1051 Durham Rd., Wake Forest, NC. (919)556-7400

Bill and I remember Daryl's contagious smile and never, ever saw him eat anything else other than fresh fruit and vegetables. I wish I could've obtained the habit.

When we met Daryl and you, we had to set up our office in his building 3 years ago while he and you maintained your offices there, too.

We still have our Parlér Properties Real Estate Services offices in his building at 123 S. White Street, downtown Wake Forest.

Yes, we still think of the building as "Cady Construction".

We pray for your strength to heal and understand in "your time".

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a compliment to his family, himself and the Wake Forest Community. Great vision and even better execution. To the family you had a wonderful privilege of having him as father, husband, sibling. A really nice guy who will be seriously missed. He was always so supportive of our annual HerbFest buying many herbs to give to his employees as his gesture of friendship to them. Good man has fallen.

Daryl was a dear friend with whom I shared many good times as well as closed transactions! While we did not see each other as often after he moved to Wake Forest, he was always a very special person who I always new I could count on if he needed me and I could feel the same about him.
