Cyndy:
I'm very sorry to see that your Dad has passed. I saw him not too very long ago out walking the dog. As Mont said, I always thought he was a "hip" guy! My best to you and Steve.

Dear Cyndy,
When I was living on Third Street in Greenville I would see your father faithfully walking his dog past our house almost every day. I didn't know him well, but I enjoyed meeting him and spending time talking with him about neighborhood issues. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Cyndy,
Although, I did not spend much time with your Dad, I always thought he was a pretty cool guy. I had no idea of the breadth of his talents and life experiences until I read the obit. Quite an interesting life history. Hope all is well with the rest of your family.

Dear Cyndy,
I really wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and Steve, and am so sorry for your loss. I remember your Dad well, and I always admired him... for several reasons. I know that he was a devoted husband to your mother, but I also know that he was such a wonderful father too. I will never forget seeing him at Special Olympics so many times. I would often see him and Val together at other functions in Greenville. I know that you (as well as Val) were so special to him. He was a kind hearted, gentle man and I'm sure you will miss him. I hope that time will ease your sorrow, and I'll have you both in my prayers.

Dear Cyndy & Steve: Please know we sorrow with you & extend our comforting thoughts in the passing of your dad. Vann was a most admirable person, as so expressed in the morning paper of April
4th,but more so, we knew him to be a loving & devoted father to his children, & especially, in the later years of his life, he showed a closeness to you, Cyndy, with enough love & support to last you the rest of your life. Love, Christine Kellerman, Los Angelos, Lyn Howell, Greenville

To Vann's daughter...You have my deepest sympathies. I have been away from Greenville for several years and didn't know that your Mom had passed away until I read your Father's obituary. Vann and my late husband, Tom Martoccia, were friends and colleagues. I admired your Dad and your Mom. I have many fond memories of conversations with both of them. They will be missed.
