I. Warren Obituary

I. Miller Warren, Sr., 95, of 208 Robin Drive, died October 8, 2005 at his home.
Mr. Warren was born December 17, 1909 in Washington, NC, to the late Ivey Warren and Margaret Jackson Warren Browning. He was married for 64 years to Katie Purvis Warren, who survives. Mr. Warren was a successful local business man, having established, owned and managed several businesses. He was an active member, leader, and trustee of Plymouth United Methodist Church, past chief of the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years, past president of the NC State Fireman's Association, having attended over 70 consecutive annual meetings, past president and active member of the Plymouth Lions Club with over 60 years of service. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elsie V. Warren.
Survivors: daughter, Barbara W. Barnhill of Scotland Neck, NC; sons, I. Miller Warren, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth of Raleigh; four grandchildren, I. Miller Warren, III of Raleigh, Susan W. Maiolo and husband, Tom of Raleigh, David Barnhill and wife, Sherrie of Baltimore, MD, Kathi Barnhill of Asheville, NC; four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 11 at 2:00 p.m. Plymouth United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 10 7:00 p.m. at Smith & Austin Funeral Home Horner Chapel, Plymouth.
Memorials may be made to the Plymouth United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Smith & Austin Funeral Home Horner Chapel of Plymouth is serving the Warren Family.
