Irwin Rovner Obituary
Irwin was born to Abraham and Sara Rovner of Hyannisport, MA. Irwin graduated from Brandeis University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A two-time Fulbright Award recipient, he did groundbreaking research into phytoliths, which he used to help reconstruct the gardens at Monticello.
Irwin was preceded in death by his wife, Ann S. Rovner. He is survived by daughters Dorothea and Abigail and brother Jack.
There will be a private graveside ceremony at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro are greatly appreciated. Condolences: rfhr.com.
