William Lee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.
William Lee, a revered figure in both his professional circle and beloved family, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on June 2, 1949, to the late Tong Fon Lee and Kam Heung Cheneung, William's life was a testament to his loving, kind, and intelligent nature.
William's formative years were spent at Boston Latin School, where he laid the foundation for his lifelong love of learning. He furthered his education at Brandeis University before attending Georgetown University School of Dentistry, where he honed the skills that would define his professional life. With a passion for dentistry, William established Lee Family Dentistry in Neponset, where he practiced for many years, providing care and comfort to his patients with a gentle touch and warm smile.
Beyond his work at the dental practice, William was deeply involved in numerous professional associations. His commitment to his profession was evident through his membership in the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, and South Shore Dental Society. William was also an Emeritus member of the Academy of General Dentistry and a Massachusetts Academy of General Dentistry affiliate. His dedication to the field was further recognized with fellowships and life memberships in prestigious organizations such as the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the Academy of Dentistry International. He was also an active member of the American Philatelic Society, indulging in his love for stamp collecting.
William's interests extended beyond his professional life. A lifelong sports fan, he found joy and excitement in cheering on his favorite Boston teams, especially the Celtics. He was an avid consumer of media in all forms, and he loved introducing friends and family to his favorite music, movies, and books. He traveled extensively, both with his family and with professional organizations. He was an animal lover, who donated to animal rights organizations and rescued many cats over the years including his kitten Max.

The true highlight of his life was his family. William was a devoted husband to the late June (Warren) Lee. He was a loving father to Jaime Gagne and her husband Josh of Cambridge, and to Daniel Lee of Milton. His role as a grandfather to Vivian and Declan Gagne filled him with immense pride and joy. He said on many occasions that he knew he had lived a good life because he had his family as his legacy.
William was predeceased by four siblings in China and Macau and his sister Poy Har Yee of New York. However, his memory lives on through his cherished nieces and nephews in China and America, who will continue to honor his legacy.
To those who knew him, William Lee was the epitome of a life well-lived. His love for his family, his dedication to his profession, and his contributions to the community were all part of the rich tapestry of his life. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will be treasured forever.
As we bid farewell to William, we reflect on a life that was lived with purpose, generosity, and an unyielding commitment to the betterment of others. His was a journey marked by achievement, fellowship, and an unwavering love for those around him. William Lee's legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched, both within his family and beyond.
