Janice, daughters, and sister,
Am sorry to hear of Jack's passing. Have fond memories of my friendship with Jack at Edgemont Free Will Baptist Church in the 1950's
when we were teens. Remember Jack, Sr. preaching on occasion and he'd occasionally look up in the balcony where we usually sat as if to remind that... I see you... Just a life memory of, with Jack. Spoke to him on phone once since that time I'm sorry to say. But I've thought of him and our antics now and then, most recently when I was researching how the EFWB church building could be saved from demolition and restored.
Was an emotional exercise on several levels. If you'd care to see pictures and a video of the church bldg. go to Preservation Durham website and type in Edgemont Free Will Baptist Church.
I offer this as possibly some consolation for all of us.
Sincerely, Charles A. Gibbs. Durham
