Luther T. Price

Luther Thurston Price, 81, of 8341 Cunningham Rd., went home to be with the LORD, Thursday afternoon surrounded by his family. He was born in Wake County, son of the late Dool Beatty Price and Julia Mitchell Price. He retired from Westinghouse. Prior to his illness, Luther had a very active life and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and gathering with friends and family to cook special meals, like his famous BBQ chicken. His kindness, passion and generosity will be missed. Funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Sunday at Union Chapel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris Creech Price; sons and daughters-in-law, Thurston and Shirley Price, Danny and Sandra Price, Nelson and Elisa Price all of Zebulon; grandchildren, Jamey & Michelle Price, Emily and Roger Jones, Tim and Traci Price, Joey and Sarah Price, Sandy Price and fiancé Tom Register, Bethany and Scott Broadwell, Kristen Price and special friend Dale Pate; great-grandchildren, Michael Horton, Blake and Tucker Jones, Sam and Brody Price, Davis and Austin Broadwell; sisters, Dicie Strother of Cary, Thyra Mae Bell of Louisburg and Alice King of Garner. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Raybon, Elsie Perry and Marlene Maynard; brothers, Durwood, Raeford and Bobby Price.
