I miss you, Liv- I think of you so often and continue to carry you on my small but meaningful adventures. This summer we visited Sandbridge, VA. Viewed the beautiful sunrises, had delicious foods, took our special needs nephew to the Aquarium and he had a blast! He did great and didn't want to leave the big fishes tank.
I think of your family often and hope they are doing well. I know they have to miss you beyond words.
Miss You.

Dear Janine, Peder, and family,
I was so very saddened to learn of the loss of this beautiful soul. I had not seen Olivia since her preschool years at Edenton St UM Church but her compassion and kindness was evident even in those early years and I felt so fortunate to have had her in my class. Reading about the impact she made on each community of people she interacted with shows how blessed we all were to be touched by her. My prayers are with you all.

I was very sorry to hear of Olivia's passing. We shared a class at Vassar a few years ago, and although I doubt Olivia would remember me I always remember her and her passionate additions to class discussion. She was always so enthusiastic and interested in the material, as well as the opinions and perspectives of our classmates. I appreciated her candidness in the classroom and willingness to consider many points of view. I am so sorry that the world will be without her intelligence, compassion and leadership.

I had a dream about Liv last night. We were in Ferry House, the house where we lived together at Vassar. I walked past her as she was sitting and working on her computer. We locked eyes and I realized it was her. I knew in the dream that the moment was fleeting so I instantly embraced her told her how much I loved her.
The dream was so vivid, which is rare for me. I believe that in that moment our souls were truly connected.
Rest in the sweetest bliss, Liv.

Liv was an important friend of mine at Vassar College. We shared a particular humor, openness and curiosity about the world. I loved chatting with her late at night and going on adventures with her. One of my favorite memories with Liv was going swimming at a watering hole near Vassar. She seemed so free and excited that day.
I lived with Liv in Ferry House, the vegetarian co-op where she lived for a number of years. We cooked dinner together every Monday. She always brought an exciting recipe to try cooking. Liv was one of the most outspoken people in Ferry House. During house meetings she shamelessly shared her perspectives even when they were in contrast to everyone else in the house. She really cared about the house and the community. I loved that about her.

We just ran across the obit by accident --and we're deeply upset that any family must lose such a lovely young lady in her prime. Our hearts go out to all the friends and family who must face this grief. --FYI: Cynthia and I are now in a retirement community because she has major health problems. Even, so we're doing okay so far. Best wishes to you at this difficult time.

I have many found memories of Olivia during our time together at Enloe High School. I spent so many lunch periods talking and laughing with her over those four years. Wandering around downtown Raleigh visiting art galleries and climbing trees with her and other friends on her 15th birthday is something I'll never forget. I'll always remember her sense of humor, her big heart, and her creative Halloween costumes. (One year she came dressed as "The Spirit of Christmas Consumerism" -- a Christmas sweater with monopoly money taped to it.)
I am shaken and saddened by the news and am sending my condolences and sympathy to her family and loved ones.

We will never forget Olivia’s smile, her dancing at her Uncle Brian and Aunt Eileen’s wedding, and how her infectious energy made the room so much brighter. We didn’t see her often, but we will miss her all the same. Love and strength to all of the Zanes and Steels.

My daughter, Shea, was a friend of Olivia's and I was lucky enough to host her at birthday parties and Halloween. We had quite a laugh one year, when Olivia dressed as Christmas Consumerism! She was a creative, kind, wonderful person and I feel so fortunate that we were able to be even the smallest part of her life.

Psalm 61:1-2 “Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
Our department just won't be the same without Olivia. It was wonderful to read the lovely words about her. I feel like I know her better. Please know that she was a well-loved work colleague. While I did not have the pleasure of daily interactions with Olivia like many others did, I witnessed her amazing work ethic, her love for people, her high standards, her caring heart, and her keen sense of humor and her passion for "the right thing to be done" every time we did interact. She leaves her imprint on so many at CMU. Peder, we all will treasure the pictures you added here. They made me smile at a time it is pretty difficult to smile. Please know that Olivia has made all of us better people. I am so sorry and can assure you that we will carry on her "good" and will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
