Dear Richard, It’s been two years today, since you’ve been gone. Your music is timeless and so enjoyable. I still can’t believe that you’re gone. I still remember what year it was, when during the year it was, and where I was working when I first hear “Blue Magic”. I was just blown away. I had never heard music quite like that before. And I haven’t heard anything like it since. It was just fantastic. Today, in honor of you, I will play “Blue Magic’s Greatest Hits” two times in honor of the two years that you’ve been gone. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE WITH THE LORD.

The most amazing and beautiful soul group of the 1960s and beyond! Listening to them as a child sparked my imagination about love and places far away, and yet to visit. I thank Our Heavenly Father for sending His Angel Richard Pratt to grace us with his talent, aka Blue Magic! May God guide the family and comfort them to continue strong in the legacy of this musical group.

During high school and in elementary school. Blue Magic's Philadelpia sound had me playing their records from sun up to sundown. The pitch perfect sound of the group and the harmony made me a lifelong fan

My heartfelt condolences are offered to the family, many, many friends, and fans of Mr. Richard Pratt. Mr. Richard Pratt was the bass singer with Philadelphia soul group Blue Magic, known for hits including “Sideshow.” Blue Magic was a giant in R&B music with groups in the 70s that had great hit songs. May the love and many, many special memories you shared with your devoted loved one show how much your life was touched by him. May the God of comfort bless your grieving hearts with strength, loving kindness and peace as the world copes with the loss of Mr. Richard Pratt. May his music and legacy keep his memory alive forever.

First, I would like to give my condolences to the family of Mr. Richard Pratt's . I was madly in love with this group Blue Magic and all their songs especially Side Show, and Spell. This was one of my very favorite groups in my list. The voices and dance moves surely was made of magic and will never be forgotten.

Richard was always welcome at Career HS, where he generously and memorably performed for students during Black History Month. Blue Magic and the song " sideshow " was and still is one of the best written and performed songs in America . I still youtube that song and sing along to it . As a younger man I would call into CKLW or WIBM and request it a few times per week .

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Richard Pratt. I grew up listening to songs from that era and “Sideshow” by “Blue Magic” was one of my favorites. I had the record and knew all the lyrics. Back then I had a good voice but not anymore. I’m truly sorry to hear that he passed away.
