Robert Park Obituary

Robert Park, 68, died peacefully February 27, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was a loving husband of Gail; devoted father of Dave Park, Denise Ross, Brad Park and Krista Berry; cherished grandfather of Spencer, Brandon, Nicole, Ricky, Mason, and Parker. He is also survived by his mother, Marian Park; brother, Lamar Park both of Axson, GA; and sister, Yolanda Croy of Raleigh.
After earning his degree from the University of Florida he began his career in the paper making industry. With St. Regis Paper Company in Jacksonville and Pensacola, FL and in Raleigh for 27 years as a sales representative with Albany International Corporation, Bob enjoyed entertaining, hunting and lobster boils with his customers.
Bob loved life and savored every day. He was easy to talk to and non-judgmental. His caring spirit and wonderful heart are evident in his many lifelong friendships and relationships. He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly and a wealth of friends who will miss his kind, gentle, and warm spirit.
The family expresses their special thanks to Heartland Hospice and to Dr. Stephen Tatter and Dr. Paul Savage at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC for their exceptional care and attention of Bob.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 3117 Poplarwood Court, Suite 114, Raleigh, NC 27614 or Wheels 4 Hope, P.O. Box 27983, Raleigh, NC 27611.

Robert was a great childhood friend. I value the many memories of bicycling, swimming and playing and working on the farm together. He will be greatly missed.

Your family is in our prayers. I feel like I knew Robert from all of the times Yolanda spoke of him and we prayed for him. She surely loved her brother. One thing for sure, Heaven has another addition today and he is suffering no more..Praise God! If you or your family need anything, feel free to contact me.

Sandy and Gail, I am thinking of you and your family during this sad time. From Sandy's many delightful conversations about Bob, the family vacations and holidays, there could be no closer or more loving family. May all the happy memories you shared sustain and comfort you.
