Born on February 9, 1954, Will grew up in Durham, North Carolina. He graduated from Northern High School in 1972 before continuing his education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and later earning credentials from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. His academic journey reflected his sharp intellect and lifelong love of learning.
Will's professional path was as diverse as it was distinguished. He served with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), worked at First National Bank of Chicago, and later brought his talents to RSM LLC. In each role, he was known for his integrity and thoughtful approach, qualities that earned him the respect of colleagues across industries.
Beyond his career accomplishments, Will found joy in collecting first edition books and immersing himself in literature. His shelves were filled with stories that sparked imagination and insight mirroring the depth of thought he brought to every conversation.
Nature held a special place in Will's heart, a passion instilled by his father, during childhood camping trips with his family when he was affectionately known as "Bill." These early adventures fostered a lifelong reverence for the outdoors. Whether hiking wooded trails or sitting quietly beside a campfire under starlit skies, Will felt most at peace surrounded by nature's beauty. Recently, he purchased a camper with dreams of exploring the United States and Canada, an adventure now lovingly carried forward by his nephew John Quinton and Chris.
He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and making wonderful memories with her. He had a special bond with his sister Linda that started in childhood and grew stronger each day.
Will cherished time spent with those closest to him. He is survived by his beloved daughter Louise Albano Hurley and her husband Matt Foster of St. Louis, Missouri; his devoted sister Linda Hurley Rives and her husband John W. Rives of Durham, NC; nephew John Quinton Rives and partner Chris Glontz of Middleton, Wisconsin; Aunt Nancy Lewis James; along with several cousins.
