Walter E. Iser

1932 - 2016

KEYSER- Walter E. Iser, Sr., 83, of Maple Avenue, Keyser, WV, died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Piney Valley Nursing Home, Keyser.

Born on October 20, 1932 at Dawson, MD, he was a son of the late Leonard E. and Bessie V. (Taylor) Iser. He also was preceded in death by his wife Joy L. (Carr) Iser on March 28, 2002; a daughter, Sandra Metz; a son, Gene Franks and two half sisters, Tracie Iser and Patty Bothwell.

Mr. Iser was retired as a track inspector with CSX Transportation with 31 years of service. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of Boyce-Houser Post # 41, American Legion, Keyser and the Danville Community Baptist Church, Danville, MD.

Surviving are his children, W. Dennis Iser and wife Linda of St. George, SC, Walter E. Iser, Jr. of Keyser, Ervin Franks of Baltimore, MD, Earlene Kile of Rawlings, MD, Angela Shoemaker of Baltimore, Pauline Moore of Baltimore and Cindy Bruce of Knoxville, TN; three sisters, Maxine McDowell of Rawlings, Bernice Treutle of Keyser and Beverly Cadwallader and husband Leon of Midland, MD; four half sisters, Betsy Rice and husband Marquis of Keyser, Naomi Kile of Rawlings, Becki Miller and husband Donnie of Burlington, WV and Kellie Iser of Yemassee, SC; a half brother, Lenny Iser, Jr. of Rawlings; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Beavers, Christopher Iser, Tyler Iser and Kyrissa Iser; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt Beavers, Mason Iser and Anna Iser; 16 other grandchildren and a large number of great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Danville Community Baptist Church on Friday, February 12, 2016, at 11 a.m., with Rev. C. Waco Biser and Rev. Bill Miller officiating. Friends may also call at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Dawson Cemetery, Dawson, MD.
