Alfred "Bud" Fuller Cook III
September 16, 1937 - June 17, 2022
Alfred "Bud" Fuller Cooke, III, 84 years-old, of Madison, CT, passed away in Liberty, MO, on June 17, 2022. Bud was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on September 16, 1937 to parents, Emily Holton Cooke and Alfred Fuller Cooke, Jr. Bud grew up in Rosslyn Farms, PA. He attended the Rosslyn Farms School, and later, the Salisbury School in Salisbury, CT. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Engineering at Princeton University, and pursued graduate study at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Bud married Nann Hegmann in Pittsburgh, PA in 1962. They settled in North Madison, CT, where they raised their family. Bud and Nann later divorced and shared a friendship through the time of his death.
Bud worked in sales throughout his career. He was an active member of the North Madison Congregational Church, and was a founding member and volunteer with the Madison ABC Program from its inception in Madison in 1970. Bud loved music, the beach, birding, hiking, kayaking and family reunions (at the beach).
Bud is survived by his daughters, Kim Cooke of Boston, MA, Kris Cooke of Gainesville, FL, and Sara Cooke-Person (Steve Person) of Kearney, MO; granddaughters, Emilee Person, Shalyn Person, and Ryan Cooke; siblings, Ron Cooke of Oklahoma City, OK, Betsy Froyd of Bryson, NC, and Nancy Beltz (Bill Beltz) of Pineola, NC.
A memorial gathering will be held at a future date.
Memorial donations may be made to Madison ABC, North Madison Congregational Church, Salisbury School, or Princeton University.
