GEORGE ZALEHA Obituary

ZALEHA, GEORGE T. George T. Zaleha, 93 year old Derby resident, formerly of Monroe, and husband to Susan Filip Zaleha, passed away at home on Feb. 2. He was born in Mt. Carmel, PA, Nov. 21, 1921, to the late George & Florence Brokenshire Zaleha. George was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII and worked as an electrician for the Bridgeport Brass Co. He was an active member of The Monroe Congregational Church, where he served on numerous boards. He was a member of Washington Masonic Lodge #19 in Monroe and was past master of Daytime Masonic Lodge #144 in Stratford. He is survived by 2 daughters, Suzanne Ward & her husband Dr. L. Stephen Ward of Brown Deer, Wisconsin & Joyce E. Rousseau & husband Gilles Rousseau of Southbury, CT and son William H. Zaleha & wife Deborah of Derby. Also 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, William H. Zaleha & Thomas J. Zaleha, also a sister, Mildred F. Kehler, and two grandchildren. Memorial services & celebration of the life of George T. Zaleha will be held Saturday, Feb. 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Monroe Congregational Church. Friends may call at church 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, is entrusted with arrangements.
