Josephine Chadwick Obituary

CHADWICK, JOSEPHINE M. (PACELLI) Josephine Pacelli Chadwick, 102, formerly of North Branford, wife of the late Vincent Chadwick, died peacefully, Monday, March 23, 2015, at Branford Hills Health Care Center, her home for the past five years. Josephine was born in Italy, December 7, 1912, a daughter of the late Michael and Marion Torone Pacelli. She came to America with her family, moving to the New Haven area when she was still an infant. She leaves daughters, Sondra (Joe) McGee, of Ohio, and Marion Lynn Chadwick, of North Branford. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent, and a grandson Nicholas Rivera. Also surviving are her loving family of six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, and Peter McGee, all of Ohio, and Kristen Cullen Hart, Shana Cullen, and Ryan Cullen, all of North Branford. Great-Grandchildren, Zack and Cullen Rezendes, Sean Hart, Tyler and Alex Cronan, Niall and Brianna McGee, Liam and Aidan McGee, and little Regan McGee, all whom she loved deeply. Josephine was a gifted seamstress her entire life, making beautiful dresses, coats, and hats for her grandchildren. She lived 102 years, a life where she saw the first Model T cars become available to the working class, and witnessed the advances in technology up to the present day. She adapted to all things, good and bad in her life, with a kind and loving spirit. She will be greatly missed. The funeral will be from the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Branford, Saturday morning at 9:15. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine Church, North Branford, at 10:00. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 4:00 to 8:00. I lieu of flowers, Josephine would have liked donations to her favorite Charity, The Nicholas Rivera Scholarship Fund, c/o Vinal RVTS, 60 Daniels Street, Middletown, CT 06457.
