Loretta Zerillo, 72, of Wallingford, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Hartford Hospital. She was born on January 14, 1951, in Scranton, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Louis and Louise (Sammartino) Zerillo.
The Zerillo's moved to Fairfield, CT, where they would raise their family. Loretta attended Warde High School and graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a major in merchandising. Post graduation, she started working for L'Oreal in sales and later went on to work in pharmaceutical sales for Glaxo before getting married to the late Gary Baker. Gary and Loretta settled in Cheshire and were married for 20 years.
Loretta was fun-loving and full of life. Her effervescence lit up any room she was in, and her laughter was contagious. She was the life of the party and would entertain everyone with her animated stories. Cooking was one of her favorite pastimes and she was known for her lobster dinners and clams casino. Loretta was also a very talented seamstress and after she left sales to start a family, she began her own business, Discount Window Fashions, where she created beautiful and innovative custom draperies for her customers. A people-person at heart, she also enjoyed waitressing at the Seafarer, Pasta Plus, and Serafino's Restaurant and Bar. She later found a life partner with the late Robert Daley of Waterbury, and they shared many memories together.
Loretta is survived by her children, Jessica and Garrett Baker, as well as her sister Fran and her husband Donald Dennis, and her nephews Mike, Chris and Donny Dennis.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 1:00pm at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford, CT 06492. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home. To leave a message of remembrance for the family please visit:
